Beesen Global Experience Research Fellowships provide support for non-native French speakers to take on independent research in Paris during the summer. Each fellowship provides a $5000 award to fellows to defray transportation, housing and living costs. The fellowship gives Columbia University students the chance to pursue intellectual goals, gain valuable research and study experience, learn French, and engage with their Parisian community.

Students of all disciplines in Columbia College, the School of General Studies, the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and Barnard College are encouraged to apply. Applicants must secure a CU Faculty Mentor, who will supervise their research before, during and after their research period in Paris and write a letter of support. If you receive a Beesen Global Experience Fellowship, you may be asked to speak at an information session for interested students next year and will be expected to present a poster on research experience and learning outcomes in October as part of an undergraduate research symposium.

Preference will be given to those who participated in the Columbia Reid Hall in Paris study abroad program for a semester or academic year.
