Science Offerings through UGE for Summer 2020

We are excited to share that the following Core Curriculum Science Requirements are now available through three programs, organized by the Center for Undergraduate Global Engagement:
Summer Ecosystem Experiences for Undergraduates (SEE-U) programs in Jordan and New York City will be offered during summer 2020. During each SEE-U program, students will have the opportunity to complete six credits, which align with the Core Curriculum Science Requirements.
  • SEE-U Jordan: explore the ecosystems, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability in Jordan and learn about marine, desert, and forest ecosystems while traveling from Amman in the north to Aqaba in the south.
  • SEE-U New York City: Examine acroecosystems by exploring the diverse array of farms and food systems in NYC and its surrounding environs.
The Columbia Summer in Paris program at Reid Hall will be offering the course, Frontiers of Science, taught by Dr. Ivana Hughes during summer 2020. The course will have the same learning objectives, though it will be condensed into seven weeks and is expected to be intense and fast-paced. First-year students who are interested in the course must apply by an early decision date of January 8th and are expected to drop Frontiers of Science from their Spring 2020 registration upon notification of their admissions decision on January 15th. More information is available on the program webpage.
