Acceptance Materials

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Berlin Consortium for German Studies for fall 2008!

You have a lot to do before you leave for Berlin. Below you will find links to forms and information. Please read ALL information carefully. It is extremely important that you submit all forms by the stated deadlines; not doing so could jeopardize your participation in the program.

The items listed below are of primary importance as you begin your preparations. Please read the BCGS Handbook carefully, as it will answer many of your initial questions. Please read all of the instructions for the various required items carefully.

The items below are due at our office by April 30, 2008 unless otherwise noted. This means that we must receive them on or before April 30, 2008. Most of the items below need to be received as a hardcopy by mail or scanned and emailed, since we need an original signature or document for our records. However, there are a few items which are informational and do not require a signature, so you have the additional option of sending them as a regular email. The parenthetical note next to each item indicates the way it needs to be received in our office. All items may be mailed or physically delivered to our office in hardcopy form.

Due September 2008:

German Residence Permit

U.S. citizens do not need a visa to enter Germany. If you are not a US citizen, please check the following website for information to determine any documents you need to enter Germany: http://www.germany.info. Once you are in Germany, you will need to apply for a Residence Permit. While this process will be facilitated by BCGS staff once you are in Berlin, please bring the following items with you to Germany:

The items below are for your information and reference. While there is nothing here that needs to be returned, please read everything carefully and stay on top of completing necessary documents.
