Housing and Meals

Students have the choice to live with Chinese families or in an international student dormitory.

Homestay

Host families are chosen from the university faculty and administrators who apply to host program students. They usually live either on or very close to the campus. Program students usually have their own rooms or share a room with one other student in an air-conditioned home. Two dinners a week are included. Living with a host family allows students to use Chinese on a regular basis and also gain insight into the local lifestyle.

"I thought my homestay experience was invaluable. The cultural gap could be frustrating, but well worth it."

International Student Dormitory

Program students are housed in double rooms with private bathrooms in the newly built international student dormitory. Each room is air-conditioned and has 24 hour hot water. The rooms include a telephone, television, and a kitchen. Internet hook up in the rooms is available.

Meals

Most meals are not included in the program fee although those living with a host family will receive two dinners per week.
