Ben-Gurion University, in Beersheva, is available for direct enrollment or for study through the Ginsburg-Ingerman Overseas Student Program which has courses in English. The university is particularly strong in engineering and the sciences. Students live in dormitories near campus.
Ben-Gurion University is a vibrant center for research and teaching, with more than 17,500 students.
All OSP participants for a semester or year enroll in a 6-week Ulpan (intensive Hebrew language program) prior to the start of the semester, unless an exemption is granted. Following the Ulpan, students enroll in academic courses and continue their study of Hebrew language. We offer English-taught courses in disciplines such as anthropology, entrepreneurship, environmental studies, gender/women’s studies, global health, history, innovation, Israel Studies, Jewish Studies, linguistics, literature, Middle Eastern Studies, philosophy, political science, religious studies, sociology, and sustainability.
The dorms assigned to International Students are located in the Me'onot Gimel dormitory complex, which is across the street from the campus, the sports complex and the train station.
The dormitories are apartments of either two or four private bedrooms with a bathroom and small kitchen. Each bedroom has an air-conditioner, bed, desk, closet, chair and lamp and can be locked for privacy.
The university offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities for students to explore. Extra-curricular activities give students the opportunity to explore new interests, cultivate old ones and integrate with the local Israeli student body.
