Overview

Attend the Hebrew University of Jerusalem which was opened in 1925 on Mount Scopus and overlooks the Old City of Jerusalem. Today nearly 24,000 students study on the four campuses of the University. Students of most majors with at least an intermediate level (Gimel) of Hebrew directly enroll at the university and take regular courses in Hebrew across the various faculties (arts and sciences primarily) in addition to courses in English at the Rothberg International School.

Academics

As an international student, you enroll at the Rothberg International School at Hebrew University. Dependent on your language fluency, you can take all or some courses directly at Hebrew University; otherwise, you may focus solely on courses taught at Rothberg International School. Though courses at Rothberg are taught in English, most of the regular university courses at Hebrew U. are taught in Hebrew, and therefore you will need at least four semesters of the language to qualify for just the Hebrew University direct enrollment option. The program is available for direct enrollment during the spring and academic year. You are encouraged to take the Ulpan prior to the start of term and may earn Hebrew language credit.

Program Features

Throughout the term, you are housed in dormitories on campus.

The Student Union and Hillel offer a wide variety of student sporting and social activities including films, exhibitions, lectures and more. You are encouraged to participate in the on-campus clubs, sports and activities.
