HKUST is a research university that focuses on science, technology, and business, though a few social science or humanities courses may be available. Columbia College and SEAS have an exchange agreement that allows nominated students to attend the program tuition free. Students still need to pay a program fee, flights, and all incidentals. Students can earn 3-9 credits on the program. Speak to your OGP advisor for more details.
A wide variety of courses taught in English can be chosen: tentative summer 16 courses. Columbia College and SEAS students have different summer transfer credit rules. Students interested in this program should review summer transfer credit eligibility to help determine which courses offered on HKUST's summer program will be eligible for transfer credit. The tentative 2017 summer course schedule can be found here.
The program offers a wide variety of social and cultural activities to round out your experience in Hong Kong. All students live in student dormitories on campus.
