CIEE in India

The program is designed for students with a desire to understand the complexities and paradoxes of the world's largest democracy. Students have the opportunity to explore India's cultural and religious diversity while experiencing the impact of modernity upon tradition.

At the University of Hyderabad, students take a required Hindi course and study various aspects of Indian society, history, and culture through the SIP program for international students and take selected regular university course with local students in history, literature, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, dance, art history, cinema, political science, and economics. There are many opportunities to get involved in the local community through volunteering & internships, as ell as through campus clubs, and by living in university dorms, in homestays in in guesthouses.
