Kelly Presutti Bio

Kelly Presutti is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Art History and Archaeology and specializes in nineteenth-century European art, with a particular emphasis on landscape representation in France and its empire. Her current book project examines the role of images in the physical reshaping of France’s territory following the 1789 Revolution. She completed her PhD in MIT’s History, Theory and Criticism of Art and Architecture program and has a master’s degree in Art History and Criticism from Stony Brook University, with a focus on art and philosophy. Presutti has also held positions in museums including the Getty, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. Her research has been supported by the Social Science Research Council, a Bourse Chateaubriand, Harvard’s Center for European Studies, the Huntington Library, the Getty Research Institute, and the National Maritime Museum (Greenwich), among others.
