Global Thought Workshop for Undergraduates on February 16

Developed by Columbia University’s Committee on Global Thought in collaboration with Columbia Global Centers, the Youth in a Changing World (or YCW) project asks: How are global youth affecting and being affected by the rapidly changing world?

The Youth in a Changing World Columbia/Barnard (YCW-CU/BC) workshop on Saturday, February 16th will be led by Dr. Laura Neitzel and Darlene Dubuisson of the Committee on Global Thought. Through large group activities and small focus group discussions, the workshop will explore the project’s five themes:

  1. Aspirations and the future
  2. Education and the future of work
  3. Digital technologies, identity, and communication/connection
  4. Security and well-being
  5. Agency and engagement with the world

A central goal of the workshop is to give young people an opportunity to make legible their lived experiences, both to themselves and to others.

Space is limited; students must submit an application in order to participate. The deadline to apply is Monday, February 11th. Visit Global Thought to learn more and apply.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided. All participants will receive a certificate for participation from Columbia’s Committee on Global Thought.
