The program offers you an excellent opportunity to enhance your language skills and understanding of Japanese culture while enabling you to serve as an ambassador to Japan. Students live with local families to ensure language immersion.
You enroll in Japanese courses at the intermediate or advanced level, which is considered second and third year Japanese, respectively. In eight weeks, the Princeton in Ishikawa (PII) program covers the curricular equivalent of one academic year of Japanese language study at Princeton University. It is a high-quality intensive program taught by qualified instructors with vast experience.
You live in a carefully selected homestay family for the most linguistic and cultural immersion possible. In order to preserve the ideal language-learning environment, you are required to sign a pledge stating that you will use only Japanese when inside the academic building and during a wide-variety of extra-curricular activities.
