Study at the University of Bologna in a supported direct-enrollment program sponsored by Brown University. You have the option to study during the fall, spring, and academic year while living in an apartment near the university.
Spend time studying at the University of Bologna, the oldest continuing institution of higher learning in Europe. Among its alumni are Thomas Aquinas and Italy's most famous writers, Dante, Petrarch and Torquato Tasso. Part of the national system of higher education, the University is a large public institution with over 90,000 students. The University buildings and the student life are an important part of the city.
Before you start the semester, you attend a "proseminar" which is an intensive one-month Italian language and culture course. During the semester, you take three courses directly at the University of Bologna with local Italian students. You have access to most courses at the University of Bologna which include topics such as: art, history, film, music, philosophy, psychology, political science and sociology. Please note that the spring semester extends into June.
You live in an apartment with your own room throughout the duration of the semester; however, fellow students and local students share the common space with you. All apartments are fully furnished and are located in beautiful and conveniently situated areas of town.
